Download subtitle files from your project

Download subtitles from an EasySub project as SRT, VTT or ASS, or save the words as a plain TXT transcript. If your project already has subtitles, open it and review the track before downloading; you do not need to generate the same subtitles again.

Quick answer: Open your subtitle project, select the track you want, and choose Download subtitles. Select a format and, when a translation is available, choose source-only, translated-only or bilingual content. Download the file and check it alongside your video.

Looking for movie subtitles or subtitles for your own video?

These are different tasks. To download an existing movie or TV subtitle file, look for a subtitle supplied by the publisher or an authorized source, matching the title, episode, language and video version. The EasySub workspace described here exports subtitles from your project; it is not a searchable movie-subtitle library.

If you have a video you own or have permission to process but no subtitle file, use the AI subtitle generator to create a draft from its speech. Review the draft, then return to the download steps below. Generating a new transcript is different from extracting an existing caption track from a video link.

How to download subtitles from EasySub

  1. Open your project and subtitle track. Go to your subtitle projects and open the video. If you need to create subtitles first, upload authorized media and choose its spoken language before generation.
  2. Review the words and timing. Correct names, numbers and misheard speech against the recording. If the project includes translated subtitles, check those lines separately too.
  3. Choose Download subtitles. Select SRT, ASS, VTT or TXT. If the selected track contains a translation, the Content options let you choose Bilingual, Source only or Translated only.
  4. Download and test the file. Load timed subtitles in the intended player or editor. Check the beginning, middle and end against the same video version; open TXT in a text editor when you only need the words.

SRT, VTT, ASS or TXT: which should you download?

Format EasySub export contains Choose it when
SRT Subtitle text and timestamps Your destination accepts SRT and you need a separate timed subtitle file.
VTT Subtitle text and timestamps Your web player or publishing platform requests WebVTT.
ASS Subtitle text, timestamps and styling You need subtitle styling in a player or editor that supports ASS; test how it renders there.
TXT Plain text without subtitle timestamps You need a transcript for notes or editing, not synchronized captions.

Download original, translated or bilingual subtitles

For a new project that needs translation, enable Add translation and choose the translation model and target language before generating subtitles. When the resulting track includes a translation, select Source only for the original language, Translated only for the target language, or Bilingual for both. The content selector is conditional: it does not add a translation to a track containing only the original language.

Why does my downloaded subtitle file look different from the video?

A separate subtitle file is not a captioned video. SRT and VTT carry text and timing but do not reproduce every visual setting from the editor. ASS includes styling, though the destination must support it. Use video export separately if you want captions rendered into the video itself.

If the file is out of sync, confirm that it matches the exact video cut and check the cue times in the editor. Changing the file extension does not fix timing or convert TXT into timed subtitles.

Before starting: Check the current pricing and account allowance before generating new subtitles or exporting video. Do not assume that a free start includes unlimited processing. Only process media you own or have permission to use.

Can I download subtitles for movies here?

This workflow downloads subtitle files from an EasySub project; it is not a searchable movie-subtitle library. For an existing movie or TV subtitle file, use the publisher or an authorized source and match the language and exact video version. If you need to create subtitles from a video you are authorized to process, generate and review a draft in EasySub first.

Which subtitle format should I download?

Choose the format accepted by your destination. SRT and VTT export text with timestamps. ASS exports text, timestamps and styling for compatible players or editors. TXT exports plain text without subtitle timestamps. Downloading a subtitle file is separate from exporting a video with visible captions.

Can I download translated or bilingual subtitles?

Yes, when the selected subtitle track contains a translation. In Download subtitles, choose Bilingual, Source only or Translated only. For a new project, enable Add translation and select the model and target language before generation. Review the source and translated text separately before downloading.

Do I need to generate subtitles again to download them?

No, not when your EasySub project already contains the subtitle track you need. Open the project, review the track, then choose Download subtitles and a format. If you need new transcription, translation or video export, check the current pricing and your account allowance before starting; do not assume unlimited free processing.
